Young@Heart performance of “Fix You”
Yesterday I worked a movie premiere for the film, “Young@Heart”. It’s a film about how much music can uplift anyone no matter the age. Every member of the Young@Heart chorus is at least 70, maybe 80 years old. I wasn’t going to stay and watch the film but I had an inclining that I should. It was the best 90 minutes I’ve invested in something in quiet a while.
The performer here is Fred Knittle, who suffers from congestive heart failure. This song was intended to be a duet between Fred and another chorus member, Bob Salvini. Sadly, Bob died of a heart attack and it was left to Fred to carry the song on his own. To see the movie trailer (which I recommend you do) can be found here .
