IMAGE MICK MATHER: “Train”
It’s Thursday, aka local artist day, here on the blog. Mick Mather, whom has become a mentor for me in my public arts endeavors, creates a piece of art each weekday. His drawing “Trains” from The Toys Series was featured on May 19th.
Since I was a young kid trains had grabbed my attention. We used to have a toy train set that we’d set up around the Christmas tree. Years later I’d ride the rails as I backpacked abroad. There is a certain magic in riding out of city centers and into the wild only to return again.
